'B' League 'BEE'Netball RUNNERS UP 2025

Still smiling after seven tough matches.
On Thursday 3rd April, the 'B' league netball team, consisting of five Year 6's and three Year 5's, travelled to Comberton VC for the FINALS of the 'B' netball league.
Round One was in October 2024 and round two in mid-March against local schools. This was the 'finale' of the season, with fifteen teams in total from the SCSSP competing. It was a very sunny afternoon, albeit a bit blustery! The team were excited but also a bit anxious as they were playing new teams they hadn't met before.
The first match was against Gamlingay, and Swavesey won 5-0. Onto the next against Haslingfield and another 5-0 win. The third match was against Hardwick and Swavesey won 2-0 with a final match against Linton Heights, ending with a 4-0 win. There was very tight marking throughout these matches and some excellent scoring, as well as many attempts at goal. Swavesey had won all the matches without conceding a goal!
After a short break for some' number crunching', Swavesey were placed in Pool 1 for round two of the tournament. We are now playing for a top 4 position overall...
Our first game was against Trumpington which Swavesey won 3-0. Onto the second against Hardwick, who we had played earlier, but this time we won 7-0! Our final match was against Histon Brook, who also hadn't lost any of their matches either, so we knew it would be close. After a super match, which was very fast moving, we sadly lost 7-1.
However, Swavesey B were crowned 'RUNNERS-UP', and were all full of smiles when they received their medals and certificates. They should ALL be extremely proud of what they have achieved, as I certainly am. To not concede any goals until the final match is outstanding.
Thank you to Mrs Durant for accompanying us too.
