Year 3 / 4 Tennis festival
Yesterday, Mrs Durant and Mrs Maloney took 10 children to a Year 3 / 4 Tennis Festival at Cottenham VC.
The children were quite nervous about representing the school, but they boarded the bus with a bag of tennis rackets, looking very smart in their team kits. They collected Pathfinder School on the way and on arrival, sat in the sunshine to eat their packed lunches.
When the afternoon of events started, nerves disappeared and all of the children had a fantastic time, playing ' tennis related' multi skill games, with and without rackets. During the afternoon , the Sports Leaders running each activity were asked to nominate a school who was showing great 'teamwork, determination and passion', in order to receive a 'Spirit of the Games' award. Not only did Swavesey win the afternoon of activities but also received lots of nominations!
Sports Leader commented that Swavesey were 'super enthusiastic, super athletic, showed great teamwork, perseverance, engaging in EVERY activity, kind, generous and showed TEAM SPIRIT'.
Well done children, how very proud the school is of you all.
I'm also very proud of you all, for overcoming your nerves, being so well behaved and enjoying the experience 🙂
The children received 2 certificates this morning in assembly, along with a medal and 'funny face ball' for their achievements!
