Rock Kids - Wellbeing & Self Esteem Workshops
The Rock Kids team, rocked the school with positive messages and inspiration.
On Friday 1st March the school was lit up with disco lights and we were all encouraged to believe in ourselves and to know how awesome we each are. The workshop sessions provided children with an opportunity to learn an original song called 'Nobody Like Me' which reminded them that they have a completely unique place in the world. Through singing, dancing and having fun, the children were engaged in a powerful message to support their wellbeing and self-esteem.
The children were so engaged and had some insightful things to say about the day. Here are a few of their quotes:
'I loved the word they used YASBA which stood for You are Awesome So Be Awesome. It helped me realise that we are all special in our unique way.' by Lauren
Hudson "We did lots of jumping"
William "Their message was that we are all special because we are different".
Sidney "I really liked it when we did battle time"
Zara "I thought the people were fun"
Eliza: I thought it was fun and entertaining. It was telling you a message that if you wake up in the morning and you don't feel happy remember the saying YASBA (You are Awesome so be Awesome). If you're a bit down it will cheer you up and remind you that you are awesome!
'They were really funny because they kept talking about bananas and chickens.' by Charlotte
Freya - ''I liked how it was interactive, how they asked for volunteers from the audience!''
Hannah: I thought it was good and fun. I liked the song when we were jumping too. I really liked 'Battle Time' when people had to dance at the front in a competition. Olivia was the best dancer!
'They taught us how to be proud of ourselves and love ourselves in a humorous way' - Nancy
Isabella "I liked all of it"
'I couldn't stop jumping. It made me laugh and giggle so much.' by Joel
'They were very funny and they used lots of relatable content to convey an important message' - Charlotte
Arla "I liked dancing"
'I just liked all of it - it was amazing!' Bronwyn
Archie - ''I thought it was really loud in a good way and the lighting and massive screen were so cool!''
Jacob - ''It was great to have the opportunity to meet the people after school, they were so friendly and funny''
Nylah: It was very funny. You kept jumping and it even made me a bit tired. I liked the music and my favourite part was when we were jumping along to the music.
Santhosh - ''I found it so hilarious, Sy was doing great impressions and Grace was struggling to control him!''
‘The jokes were really funny and brought a smile to my face.’ Darshan
‘The man was hilarious and included lots of things that we would know about – like memes.’ Elsie
‘There were so many chicken jokes, I ended up having dreams about chickens!’ William
