Year 6 PGL residential

A fabulous week full of fun, positivity and a lot of climbing harnesses! Well done Year 6s, for rising to the challenge!

Year 6 travelled to PGL Caythorpe on Monday 3rd June for a week of activities.  The children worked well in their teams, supporting and helping each other achieve so much.

Their activities included traversing the high ropes, building rafts to sail, climbing and jumping the trapeze, orienteering and archery tag.  They learnt many new skills (and songs), developed their resilience and were incredibly resourceful.

Here is what some of them said about their week:

'At first glance at the place was amazing with lots of trees , bushes and grass. There was a big building with our dorms in which I think overwhelmed some people with excitement. The best activity in my opinion was raft building and the sensory trail.' Amy

'PGL was so fun and allowed us to achieve many things and overcome lots of fears! They had a range of things to do including: fencing, rock climbing, raft building and loads more. When we got there, our instructor gave us the warmest welcome and was so helpful by showing us where to go and sit in the dinner hall and in the dorm corridors. The people running activities were so encouraging and kind to everyone, they didn’t force any one to do what they didn’t want to do and made them feel safe doing what they were afraid to.' Faye

'PGL is a very fun experience and the activities are really good if you want to have a break and just “hang in there” (I said that because you get attached a lot and sometimes you get locked and you hang). My favourite activity was the giant swing. Luckily, the instructors are really nice as well. They will help you, encourage you and lastly make sure you have a lot of entertainment towards all the other activities.' Jagoda
