Year 4 Mini Olympics 2024
An Olympic themed warm up, before heading outside for a sunny afternoon of sport!
On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 4s took part in our ‘in school’ Mini Olympics linked to the Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games.
The key message for the Mini-Olympics is having FUN and TRYING YOUR BEST.
The afternoon began with a fun-themed Warm Up video in the hall, with brothers Ottavio & Mario from Tanzii TV, before the children headed outside in the sunshine (for a change) to begin their afternoon of sport.
BTEC Sport students from Long Road 6th Form College came in to lead 5 different sporting activities throughout the afternoon, as part of their course assessment.
The 6th form students had an amazing time and so did the Year 4s! Everyone really tried their best and there were lots of supportive cheers throughout the afternoon. The Year 4s gave a BIG THANK YOU to Long Road as they left at the end of the afternoon.
Here are some comments from the Year 4s:
‘It was brilliant. I had a really good time’
‘It was really fun trying to throw the balls into the bucket’
‘I liked the golf game the best’
‘Can I do it again next year… please!’
'The students were really nice to us '
The afternoon ended in the hall, with every year 4 receiving a special medal for taking part, which was a great surprise for them all.
