THREE TEAMS PLAY IN ROUND ONE of the 'BEE' NETBALL LEAGUE

An exciting early evening of 'Bee' Netball for three teams of Year 5 and 6 Pupils...

On Tuesday 8th October, the first round of the league took place at Northstowe Secondary School. Nine Year 6s who played last year and 13 Year 5s, who have had only 4 club sessions, made up three teams in this round. As it was the first round, the Year 5s and 6s were shared amongst the three teams, in order for the Year 6s to be on hand to support and mentor on court.

The children were understandably nervous but also very excited. Once everyone had played their first match, confidence certainly became more apparent. All the players worked their hardest and there was great support on court and off.

I am extremely proud of the Year 6s. You were a great support to the Year 5s and, hopefully, the initial nerves have subsided for the Year 5s, and they are looking forward to Round 2 in March, so plenty of time to practise beforehand!

Thank you to Mrs Durant and Miss Bennett for supporting me with all three teams. It was very busy!

We had to wait until Friday for the league results, but there was certainly a lot of excitement when I read them out to the three teams!

'A' League : Swavesey 'A' came in Joint 1st Place with Pendragon 'A' ( who we didn't play on the night) out of 6 teams.

'B' League: Swavesey 'B' came in 1st Place with Swavesey 'C' in 3rd place out of 6 teams.

Congratulations to you all.
