Updates from Mrs Norden
It was wonderful to be able to go ahead with our PTA Fireworks Display last Friday, which was spectacular. We are so grateful to all who supported a fun evening for all sending a huge 'Thank You' to Ali, Steven, Yinka and Matt, our Fireworks team for the amazing display; Lucy, our school cook, for the yummy BBQ; and our PTA volunteers and the school staff for their support which enabled the event to go ahead. It was reassuring that all our visitors supported our extra safety measures, so we could comply with Expanded Plan Area guidance, which I know gave greater confidence to many. Please click into the tab below to see some memories of the evening.
We will be joining in with fundraising for Children in Need next Friday with a non-uniform day, asking for a minimum donation of £1 to join in and support the cause. Spots, yellow and Pudsey ears are all encouraged.
As we move through this second half of the autumn term there are many activities and events which will be taking place, albeit in a revised way to original plans for some. Please look out for details, reminders and links to relevant documents in our weekly e-newsletter. At the end of this month we will include our usual useful December guide to help with planning at home for those last few very busy weeks.
We hope you found last week's first e-newsletter easy to navigate and access information through. As we develop this we will add further links.
Please use the link below to access a letter from the Local Authority on the Expanded Response Area on our Covid-19 page. Scroll to the list of documents past the website links.
We are excited to announce that the Travelling Book Fair will be visiting Swavesey Primary School from Friday 19th November to Wednesday 24th November.
Unfortunately, due to current Covid restrictions, we are unable to invite parents on site. Instead, your child’s class will be given time to browse hundreds of children’s books with their class teacher in our school hall. Children will be able to share books with their peers and teachers. Prices of books will start from £3.
Your child will be encouraged to select a book or two for their Wish List, which will then be sent home for you to review.
It is really important children are in school by 9am at the latest and in school uniform. Foxes and Squirrels should NOT come in PE kit.
Anti-Bullying Week
Next week is National Anti-bullying week, the theme of which is 'One Kind Word' and we will be taking part in activities linked to this. Additionally, as part of our week we are asking everyone to wear 'Odd Socks on Monday' to celebrate our individuality.
Admin Updates:
1. Smarties Challenge - if you missed todays' deadline you can still bring in filled Smarties' tubes next week.
2. Flu Vaccinations - a reminder that these will be taking place next Tuesday (16th November).
