Updates from Mrs Norden

Happy New Year - I hope it is not too late to say this, and I hope you all had a lovely festive season.

The term has begun with a flurry of rehearsing in Year 3/4, new units of work being started, visits by prospective candidates for the headteacher role and preparations for forthcoming events. The school has definitely been a hive of activity.

We are looking forward to the Yr3/4 production 'An Egyptian Adventure' this week and the PTA discos (see the poster below).  We will also be joining in with the NSPCC 'Number Day', again this year, details for which you can find below from Mr Pawlett.  This will include the opportunity to celebrate numbers through dressing up and more. 

This is a short half term with several events and activities, so please look out for the details in the newsletters and/or separate emails.  This term's parent/carer consultations will be virtual, as detailed last term, and the final information for this will be shared at the end of January.  The technical information document can be found on the website by clicking here should you wish to look at this earlier. 

Our Rights Respecting Committee now have a date in May for their Silver award assessment and have a request to support them in their continuing action plan.  Please see their blog below for details.

Please can I remind everyone that scooters should be dismounted on entry to school premises by children and adults.  On Friday, a child narrowly missed being knocked over by an adult on a scooter.  In addition, please remember the walkway round the side of the school is one way during drop off and pick up. Again, we have had a couple of near misses this week.

NSPCC's 2025 Number Day

Friday 7th of February is the NSPCC's 2025 Number Day. As part of taking part we will be having a 'Dress up for Digits' day, where the children are invited to bring in a donation for the NSPCC and dress up as a Digit or number. This could be as simple as just having a number on a piece of clothing or it can be as creative and as imaginative as you like. Below are a couple of ideas!

Spring Term Updates

Lost Property - We have acquired lots of lost property since last term and would love to reunite the items with their owners, but it is all unnamed. If you recognise any of the items in these photos - click here, then please get in contact with, or pop into, the office and take a look.

If it is not claimed by February half term we will be donating to charity.  We also have lots of books so please pop in and help yourself.

If you need any uniform the PTA have lots of second hand uniform of good quality - please see PTA section below. 

Request Preschool - if anyone has any scooters, trikes or similar they are able to donate Carol and the team would be really grateful.  If you have please drop them off in the New year at the main school office, or to preschool staff at their drop off time (9am).

Request Lunchtime - if anyone has any lego they would be willing to donate for our lunchtime play, we would be really grateful.  If you do, please drop them off in the New year at the main school office.

NHS Pharmacy First Service - the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment. 

There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.
